Uniting for Democracy
In the spring of 2025, the Y-I Steering Committee developed the first tagline for Yakima Indivisible: Democracy That Works for Us All. The phrase definitely described the ultimate goal of Y-I, although it was a bit long for a bumper sticker or letter head. Members of the Steering Committee asked a variety of people for new suggestions. Celebrating Democracy was an option and the right length, but many felt at this moment in history our democracy is in peril and needs to be saved more than celebrated.
