Following the results of the 2024 General Election, Ellen decided being alone with what she was feeling was not the place to be and started working. She reached out to likeminded folks (whose emails she had collected during the letter writing and other outreach) and organized the first meeting.
At Ellen’s first meeting in February 2025, there were 35 of us. At the second meeting in March there were 87. On April 5th there were 1300 and on June 14 it was 2200.
In between April 5 and June 14 – Yakima Indivisible was born.
Ellen will be the last one to take the amount of credit she deserves. She will praise others and reference the team effort and community that we have become.
Still, it all boils down to where would we be without Ellen? We are lucky we will never know the answer to that!
