With the current level of attacks on democracy and the repercussions this onslaught will have in the future, Yakima Indivisible is developing systems and resources to function effectively for the next three to five years. Uniting more and more people in the Yakima Valley to resist autocracy and defend democracy requires resources to plan and implement rallies, protests, workshops, marketing strategies and more. On-going monetary donations through Act Blue as well as cash donations at events are necessary to sustain this work. Additional creative ideas are welcome to help us fully fund what is currently needed.
Y-I Needs:
- Portable speaker system
- Presentation device (projector) for slides (we are currently renting for each event)
- Copy machine or funds to cover bulk printing
- Materials for sign-making
- MEETING SPACE – Working Groups and committees of up to 25 people meet weekly to plan and implement events and projects. Consistent work and meeting spaces are desperately needed. Meetings are mostly held weekdays, between 4:30 to 8:30 PM. Space for General Meetings is also needed about every other month. The Mighty Tieton is fantastic but is a drive and will be more challenging during the winter months. Consider donating to space costs, or helping us find no or low cost spaces to meet.
