Please read the meeting description below. If you are interested in attending this meeting, send an email to contact@yakima-indivisible.org
An Advisory Committee is being formed to develop and implement Yakima Indivisible projects in addition to our on-going rallies and protests. This committee will meet with the Steering Committee once a month to co-plan projects (such as workshops, town halls, forums, petitions, etc.) designed to educate and mobilize action in one or more of the following Issue Categories:
- Protecting People
- Preserving Civic Institutions
- Defending the Rule of Law
- Safeguarding the Safety Net
- Maximizing Voting Rights
- Bridging the Divide
Each Issue Category will be represented by two Co-Facilitators on the Advisory Committee. At least one of the two co-facilitators will need to attend the monthly planning meetings.
A process will be developed that:
- Results in a reasonable number of projects at a given time. This means not all Co-Facilitators will be asked to develop and implement projects all the time for every Issue Category.
- Is welcoming and inclusive. This means when projects are identified, members of the Y-I community will be invited to join the working group to develop and implement the project.
- Provides a conduit for suggestions for projects from a broad range of members. This means the process has to include a system for input.
If you have an interest in serving on the Advisory Committee OR you would like to help shape the future Advisory Committee process, you should attend this meeting.
