Join Us at Sunfair Parade on September 20th

Yakima Indivisible celebrates Yakima Pride at the 2025 parade.

Join Yakima Indivisibles and Like-Minded Friends:

  • To let Yakima know we are Celebrating and Defending Democracy AND
  • To connect with Yakima Valley residents on common issues affecting us all

Parade Information

  • Our parade entry is due on September 7th and must include the number of people in our group.
  • Register using the QR code above before September 4th, 2025
  • The parade route is 1.4 miles long – starting on 16th and Yakima Avenue and proceeding east
  • Participants will need to arrive no later than 9:15 a.m. – location to be announced
  • Stay tuned for updates – we are looking for options for those who cannot walk

This is a family-friendly event

  • If we want others to connect with our messages, we must accentuate core issues that invite people in rather than pushing them away
  • Therefore, many signs will begin with, “We care about . . . “ (or Yakima Indivisible cares about)
  • Signs and slogans will not use any type of profanity or off-color messaging
  • Anti-Trump signs and slogans and upside down American flags will not be a part of the parade – our messages will focus on policies and issues
  • American flags representing the intended – if not yet fulfilled – hopes for American democracy will be a significant presence in our section of the parade and for our sidewalk supporters

The Yakima Indivisible Mobilization Team has identified several key issues to be emphasized in parade signs and slogans:

  • Current affronts to our Constitution – especially those directly related to the issues below:
  • Support for our valley’s Veterans
  • Immigration policies – particularly those directly affecting local people
  • Healthcare policies and budgets that affect local families – cuts to Medicaid/ SNAP, reductions in cancer research and other science related cuts, impact on rural hospitals, etc.
  • Voting rights and issues – voter suppression, gerrymandering, turnout matters – one vote can make the difference, register to vote, etc.
  • Use of public lands – national parks, public lands turned over to private corporations, etc.
