Yakima Indivisible SHOWS UP for Democracy
Nearly 100 members of Yakima Indivisible marched in the Sunfair Parade Saturday, September 20. We were one of the largest groups in the parade. Indivisibles from all walks of life and ages walked Yakima Avenue 1.4 miles from 16th to Naches Ave under sunny skies. Reaction from the crowd was largely positive, with many hoots, hollers, and cheers.
Marchers carried signs with messages like: Migrants = Harvest, Human Rights Apply to All, and Defend the Constitution. Some rode on a fire truck driven by a supporter, which added excitement and noise with its horn & siren. Others carried bubble machines which were a hit with kids on the sidelines. A great day for democracy in action!
